Privacy & Trust

Verified for trust. Private by default. Shared by choice.

Your Privacy. Your Control. Our Commitment.

Building Trust Through Verification

At DebtFreeLately, we collect relevant personal information and the debt details you submit to support review and build greater trust between Broke members and Bros who are willing to help.

We believe that reviewing information helps supporters make more informed decisions. Admin approval does not guarantee that a profile or debt is authentic.

Private by Default

Your privacy comes first. Your real name, age, location, profile photo and story are hidden on your public debt card by default. Your display nickname, debt titles and debt amounts can be shown when your card is approved.

You Decide What to Share

You have control over which eligible profile details you choose to make public using the Privacy & Display settings when creating your card. Your private information does not automatically become public simply because you submit it for review.

Protected Data Access

Account and submitted debt-card information is stored in a database on the app server. Authorized admins can read submitted cards to review them; other members receive only the information selected for public display on approved cards.

Email verification is delivered through Resend. Some prototype features, including saved cards and message drafts, are stored in your browser.

Our Promise

We collect information to build trust, not to take away your privacy.

Your story. Your choice. Your privacy.
